Oscarยฎ-winning director Damien Chazelle and star Ryan Gosling reteam for the riveting story behind the first manned mission to the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong and the decade leading to the historic Apollo 11 flight. A visceral and intimate account told from Armstrong’s perspective, based on the book by James R. Hansen, the film explores the triumphs and the costโ€”on Armstrong, his family, his colleagues and the nation itselfโ€”of one of the most dangerous missions in history.

  • They met aliens when they landed….they were also threatened by them. Which is why they always looked worried in any interviews done when they got back. They never ever looked happy and excited like anyone would be after doing something so exciting and miraculous as being the 1st on moon. Its also why weve never gone back.

  • why do i have to 'buy' the fucking movie to watch it? … 17 dollars for some fucking code and no physical copy … what a crock of shit… i used to occasionally rent a movie on my ps3 and it was like 2.99 – 5.99 … for 48 hours …. the fuck would i want to buy a code

  • Omg! Shaknado 1,2and three was better than this movie!! Dang!

  • OK. If I had believed they had landed on the moon…. I would ni longer believe. This was a very dry and crappy rendition on the so called moon landing…

  • if they can make the moon landing look real in this movie then… it was probably fake when they showed it irl

  • Hey everyone, watch it now, look at how not liberal it is and how much it actually does show the American flag lmao conservatives

  • Where's the imax

  • Good movie. Makes me question if we even reached the moon. American propaganda vs Russian Sputnik. Who really knows

  • Saw it in theatres and was blown away. The lunar sequence is extremely powerful and well shot.

  • One of the WORST movies I have seen regarding the Space Race. It depicted Neil Armstrong as a very troubled depressed person who rarely knew how to handle anything in life without depression, withdrawing into a fantasy world and sadness. His home life was showed as a total failure with Armstrong too afraid to even talk to his kids before leaving for the Apollo 11 flight.

Armstrong is seen as lost, not knowing what to do with his life, very unfriendly, in his own little world and a person with a terrible bad attitude.

The scenes of the space crafts (especially the Gemini 8) are filmed as old rust buckets that are dirty, falling apart and poorly built. Case in point; many of the switches in the Gemini 8 cockpit were rusted, paint worn off surfaces, and sound effects for the Gemini 8 that sounded like a 100 year old tug boat about to fall apart.

A very poorly made ridiculous movie that seemed to be produced to belittle NASA and the U.S. Space Program as a broken down program run by idiots who hired an emotionally hurt and depressed test pilot, Neil Armstrong, for a mission that was carried out in piles of space junk.

The producers went out of their way to include scene after scene of Armstrong sitting in the dark, depressed, trying to figure life out, not having any clear goals in his life.

    FOUR THUMBS DOWN! …terrible movie!!

  • I REFUSE TO GO WATCH THIS MOVIE. THE ACTORS, PRODUCERS AND DIRECTOR DECIDED NOT TO PUT THE IMAGE OF WHEN THEY PLANTED THE AMERICAN FLAG ON THE MOON. THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T WANT TO DISTRACT FROM THE MOVIE OR OFFEND PEOPLE.

THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER AS TO WHY THEY TRULY REFUSED TO SHOW THIS IS BECAUSE HOLLYWOOD IS FULL OF NOTHING BUT SOCIALISTIC LIBERALS WHO HATE AMERICA AND SHOWING THAT MOMENT, WHICH HISTORICALLY OCCURRED, MAY CAUSE SOME TO ACTUALLY HAVE FEELINGS OF PRIDE AND LOVE FOR THEIR COUNTRY AND THAT'S THE LAST THING THEY WANT. THEY WANT YOU TO HATE AND BE ASHAMED OF THE UNITED STATES, THEY DON'T MIND MAKING MOVIES THAT CAUSE THOSE FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS THOUGH.

IF ANYTHING I AM ASHAMED THAT MOST OF YOU ARE TOO IGNORANT OR JUST TOO STUPID TO CARE AND ARE WILLING TO SUPPORT THESE DOMESTIC TERRORIST OF FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY BY GIVING THEM MONEY SO THEY CAN CONTINUE TO BRAINWASH AND CORRUPT THE MINDS OF YOUR CHILDREN, BECAUSE MINE WON'T BE, WITH SELF-HATE AND BIGOTRY.

  • Steph Curry said this never happened

  • Too bad there was no US Flag in this movie. The planting of our flag was one of the most pivatal events in human history, but Hollywood elected not to put that part in. God bless America!

  • It's cool to tell this side of the story …as it is an amazing "tale", fiction or not the achievement moved us into the space-age this movie did a great job of detailing that, yet this looked just as real as the aforementioned actual landing which ultimately looked like a movie scene or set as well

  • Why does this movie have a sad tone to it. I was mostly sad and bored than proud and interested. There are some good parts tho!!

  • Totally agree, Lisa Murphy!
Just watched it today Nov. 29, 2018.
It was literally breathtaking and riveting from start to finish. The climax though had to have been the scene on the moon…. heart stopper! The entire audience had to catch our breath and choke back the rush of emotions and tears…. Getting choked up just writing this.

  • But he never went to the ๐ŸŒ tho

  • American LMAO, this was a world accomplishment. Starting with Wernher Von Braun (German) and all the other immigrant engineers that made this happen. No Wenher no Moon shot PERIOD. I am glad that the person who was first to ride/step on the moon was named "Neil Armstrong" cool name easy to remember, nothing more. Hundreds of astronauts, only one Werner Von Braun, now it's Elon Musks (South African) turn to advance humanity so America can once again rewrite history , wave a flag, take credit for it later on. Although as always, things like this have happened "Only In America".

  • In a world that is trying to deny and to convince young people that America never achieved such deed it is extremely important especially for young people to experience part of the life of Neil Armstrong as a husband, as a father and as an astronaut. Though the film could have been more patriotic it definitely confirms and testifies of the the fact that after so much research, so much work and especially such great sacrifice that America did indeed send brave men to the moon, and that to this day the U.S.A. is the only country on earth to have sent humans that actually walked on the only star that historically has been the inspiration of great poetry to millions around the world.

  • Space is fake the plain et is flat
And anyone who implies differently is
    A shill

  • I hope Trump Space Program prevails and they tell the truth about NASA and their fake ass shit.

  • I seen this movie yesterday

  • Saw it the other night & thought It was a really good movie. But it's not a fast paced, wham-bam, extravaganza like Armageddon or even Apollo 13. It's a quiet film & mostly dramatic with a few intense action scenes that are truly riveting. But, overall, it's a serious drama. So it's not for ppl who are impatient or immature. And the fact that they didn't plant the flag didn't bother me because it wasn't necessary to the story & it also didn't make it un-American or non-patriotic. There is plenty of American symbolism & credit given in the film. So if you're boycotting it, or on the fence, you need to try to let go of that & give it a chance. If you don't, you'll not only be missing out on one of the finest films about the space program but also one of the best films of the year.

  • Very disrespectful to the American Space race. Movie was terrible in that regard. The actual history of the race to the moon was awesome and a tribute to the entire United States people. Buy an old history book before they are all thrown away to see what actually happened.

  • They should make a movie on how Milky Way and Mars Bars are made. That I would watch.

  • For actual proof that: "APOLLO-SATURNS-WERE-FAKE-ROCKETS":

  • Best actor ever Neil Armstrong! lolz

  • More propaganda to keep the lie fresh in people's mind

  • saw it in theaters. great movie.

  • Absolutely magnificent movie! I was 15 years old then and I remember that moment well in 1969 ~ when the whole word watched.
This movie brought me back to another time and place ~ JFK and the 60's, when our country had promise and great leadership.
Thank You Damion for bringing this extraordinary story to life!

  • I want to be in The Apollo 11 Flight In REAL LIFE
